Inter-Agency Training 2017

North Somerset Safeguarding Children Board offers a full range of multi-agency training opportunities which promote and reflect the principles of multiagency working as well as providing a programme that reflects the Board's policies and priorities.  The contents of the programme is agreed by the Learning and Development sub-group.  The content of courses is regularly updated to take into account learning from Serious Case Reviews and national findings.

The core programme

Inter-Agency Child Protection: Basic awareness is a half day course that is open to anyone who works or volunteers in North Somerset with adults or children who need a basic level course and doesn't have one supplied by their employer - or for anyone who works for North Somerset Council.  Main focus on signs to look out for and who to tell.

Inter-Agency Child Proection: Introduction is a 9-3 course.  It is open to the whole children's workforce and will suit designated safeguarding leads or those who need to understand more about the impact of parental issues on the well-being of children and those who need to make decisions using the threshold matrix about single agency interventions and when to refer on.

Advanced Inter-Agency Child Protection is a one day course that has been designed for those with an active role in Child Protection Investigations, designated leads and those needing a level three course (as per the intercollegiate document for health.)

Advanced Inter-Agency Child Protection Update this half day course is for those practitioners that need to refresh or update their inter-agency training.  We do not require practitioners to repeat the above course but attend this update very two years.  This course is refreshed constantly to reflect new messages and learning.
